SERVICES
Professional Custom Dressmaking for Ladies Bridal and Evening wear (including stunning dresses for College/Uni Graduations and High School Formals).
A typical dressmaking engagement with Angela involves four appointments:
1) Initial Consultation: During this visit, you will be asked about your desired style of the garment. Angela is quite flexible with fashion designs and has both the experience and skill to make your dress without needing you to purchase a pattern. You may simply provide her with a clipping from a magazine and/or sketch on a piece of paper to outline the precise look you are seeking. The majority of Angela's clients choose this option of using a picture/drawing sketched over with some preferred modifications/additions as they prefer to unleash their inner creativity. Just imagine the excitement of wearing a perfectly-fitting dress, made with the fabric of your choice and based on your very own creative design which nobody else in the world could buy from a shop! Angela may also offer you with some suggestions based on her past experience regarding the fabric types/colours and accessories which blend in nicely with your body figure and chosen dress design.
Angela will take your measurements and advise you about the amount of fabric material required for your dress as well as the estimated cost of making the dress. Depending on the fabric you desire and other accessories (such as specific colour/design buttons, zippers, etc.) Angela may also provide recommendations on the stores likely to stock what you are seeking, but you are free to buy from any store of your choice. Angela will inform you about the time duration required to complete your dress from the date you hand over the material. Please inform her of the date you require the finished dress well in advance of the special occasion (e.g. wedding date, school formal/dinner dance date)
2) Material Handover: During this visit, you will hand over the purchased material. Angela will review the material and provide confirmation that she has everything needed to proceed with making the dress. A small deposit from the final amount may be requested at this stage depending on the complexity of your dress design. Angela will advise you of the tentative next appointment date for your fitting. You will need to confirm the exact appointment time with Angela by phone closer to the date.
3) Fitting: During this visit, your dress is ready for a fitting. For most simple dress designs, only one fitting is typically required to ensure it fits you perfectly. For more complex and time-consuming work such as bridals, multiple fitting appointments are usually the norm.
4) Final Fitting (if required) and Collection: During this visit, your custom-made dress is 100% complete and ready for collection with all of the finishing touches! Final payment balance needs to be paid and an invoice is provided. Angela will also provide you with some advice on how to best care for your dress (e.g. washing/ironing instructions) to ensure that it lasts for many years of use.
